Pepco in the news
In August 2015, PEPCO was sued as a defendant by Eric Cade, a customer of PEPCO, for refusal of utility payment. In June 2015, Cade attempted to pay his electric bill with a check marked “Not for Deposit EFT Only Discharge of Debt” in the amount of $3,055.50 and the provider did not credit the account with the check’s value, which exceeded the account balance. Cade is seeking $100 million in damages. This complaint was dismissed and a separate order is said to follow.
